An airline-friendly Personal Mobility Aid (PMA) is designed to comply with airline regulations for hassle-free travel. These PMAs are lightweight, usually around 20 kg or less, and compact enough to fit within size and weight limits. Many can be folded or disassembled for easy storage in cabin compartments or cargo holds. For motorised PMAs, compliant lithium-ion batteries, typically up to 300 watt-hours are used and clearly labelled for airline safety. These devices are also durable and portable, often featuring quick-release parts and protective travel cases, making them ideal for convenient transport during flights.
